144 count fiber optic cable — surplus micro and loose tube

144 count is the backbone count for mid-size FTTH distribution: twelve tubes of twelve, or a micro build packing the same count into a far smaller jacket. Surplus 144 ct lists around $0.93/ft. Selling? Your reel is priced from its tag, with one firm offer in writing within 24 hours.

What to know about 144 count

Standard loose tube runs twelve buffer tubes of twelve fibers, tubes in the TIA-598 color sequence. Micro constructions hit the same 144 count in a jacket small enough to jet into microduct — same fiber, very different install, and the two do not substitute for each other on a bid.

Micro tends to carry a premium per foot on the surplus market because the crews running it have fewer alternate sources. If your tag says micro, say so — it usually moves the number up.

Armored versus dielectric matters for direct-bury work. The tag’s part number tells us which you have; photograph it rather than describing it.
